Description
Coddington, a township and a parish in Cheshire. The township lies on an affluent of the river Dee, 2 miles E of Broxton station on the L. & N.W.R., and 5 1/2 NNW of Malpas, and had formerly a market. It has a post office under Chester; money order and telegraph office, Clutton. Acreage, 1421; population, 106. The parish contains also the townships of Chowley and Aldersey. Acreage, 3022 ; population, 257. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chester; gross value, £225 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Chester. The church was rebuilt in 1833.
