Capenhurst, a village and a township in Shotwick parish, and an ecclesiastical parish in Shotwick and Neston parishes, Cheshire. The township is 6 miles NNW of Chester, and has a station on the Birkenhead railway. Post town, Little Sutton, under Chester. Acreage, 1204; population, 158. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1859, and includes the township of Ledsham. Population, 241. Capenhurst Hall is the seat of the lord of the manor. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chester; net value, £150. The church was erected in 1857.
