Witchford, a parish, with a village, in Cambridgeshire, 3 miles W by S of Ely station on the G.E.R., with a post, money order, and telegraph office under Ely. Acreage, 2156; population of the civil parish, 428; of the ecclesiastical, 452. There is a parish council of five members and a chairman. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ely; net value, £300 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Ely. The church is a building of stone in the Early English and Decorated styles, and was well restored in 1887. There are Baptist and Primitive Methodist chapels.
