Saunderton, a parish in Bucks, 1 mile SW from Princes Risborough station on the Wycombe, Aylesbury, Thame, and Oxford branch of the G.W.R. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Princes Risborongh. Acreage, 725; population, 373. The manor belongs to Lord Dormer, who is also chief landowner. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; gross value, £275 with residence. Patron, Magdalen College, Oxford. The church, which was restored and almost rebuilt in 1888, is a building of flint and stone chiefly in the Decorated style, consisting of chancel, nave, S porch, and bell-turret of wood. It has a stained E window and an ancient font. The workhouse of the Wycombe union, a large building of flint and brick erected in 1843, with capacity for 450 inmates, stands within this parish.
