Description
Emberton, a village and a parish in Bucks, on the river Ouse, 1 1/4 mile S of Olney station on the M.R., and 3 1/2 miles N of Newport Pagnell, with a post office under Newport Pagnell; money order and telegraph office, Olney. Acreage, 1887; population of the civil parish, 505; of the ecclesiastical, 526. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; gross value, £280 with residence. The church is Late Decorated English, with an embattled tower, and was restored in 1869. Petsoe Manor, formerly extra parochial, is now a parish and belongs to Lincoln College, Oxford.
