Buckland, a parish in Bucks, intersected by the Aylesbury and the Wendover Canals, 3 miles WNW of Tring, and 4 from Aylesbury. Post town, Tring; telegraph office, Aston Clinton. Acreage, 1609; population, 849. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; net value, £160. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln. The church, an edifice of stone in the Early English style, dates from 1294. There is also a small Wesleyan chapel. Buckland Common is a hamlet 5 1/2 miles SE of the parish church. It has a chapel of ease and a small Wesleyan chapel.
