Wootton, a parish in Berks, 3 1/2 miles NNW of Abingdon station on the G.W.R. It has a post office under Abingdon; money order and telegraph office, Abingdon. Acreage, 1522; population of the civil parish, 417; of the ecclesiastical, 420. There is a parish council consisting of six members. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Oxford; net value, £70, in the gift of the Earl of Abingdon. The church is a small but ancient building of stone in the Gothic style of the 15th century. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
