Description
Fernham, a township in Shrivenham parish, Berks, near the G.W.R., 2 1/2 miles SSE of Faringdon, and 1 1/2 mile N from Uffington Junction station. Post town and money order office, Faringdon; telegraph office, Uffington Junction railway station. Acreage, 1016; population, 146. A church for Longcott chapelry was built here m 1861, at a cost of £819, exclusive of the site, consists of nave, chancel, and south porch, with bell turret, and is in the Geometric style.
