Henlow, Bedfordshire

Description
Henlow, a village and a parish in Beds. The village stands near the river Ivel and the Bedford and Hitchen branch of the M.R., on which it has a station 2 1/2 miles SE from Shefford, and 4 1/2 SW from Biggleswade. The Arlesey station on the G.N.R. is 1 mile SE. It has a post and money order office under Biggleswade; telegraph office, Arlesey (R.S.O.) The parish comprises 2377 acres; population, 879. Henlow Grange is a plain building of red brick, situated in a pleasant park. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ely; net yearly value, £213. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is good and has a fine tower.
