Whitchurch, a parish in Glamorgan, on the river Taff, 1 mile NNW of Llandaff. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Cardiff. Acreage, 3269; population, 3322. There are iron and tinplate works. Greenhill, The Pines, Tyn-y-Park, Velindra, and Greenmeadow are chief residences. There are a barrow and a Roman camp. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Llandaff; gross value, £344 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Llandaff. The church was erected in 1883. A chapel of ease is at Tongwynlais. There are Baptist, Calvinistic Methodist, Congregational, Primitive Methodist, and Wesleyan chapels.
