Description
Wenvoe, a village and a parish in Glamorgan, 2 1/2 miles NE of Dinas Powis station on the Barry railway, and 5 1/2 SW of Cardiff, with a post, money order, and telegraph office under Cardiff. The parish comprises 3035 acres; population, 445. Wenvoe Castle was built by the Thomas family on the site of an old castle, has a frontage of 374 feet, and is the seat of the Jenner family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Llandaff; net value, £310. The church is ancient, and was restored in 1869. There are Baptist and Calvinistic Methodist chapels.
