Description
Brides-Minor, St, a township and a parish in Glamorgan. The township lies on the river Ogmore, 2 1/2 miles N by W of Bridgend. Acreage, 1919; population of the township, 1072; of the ecclesiastical parish, 2120. The parish includes also the hamlet of Ynysawdre, and its post town is Bridgend. Remains of Ogmore Castle are in the parish of Merthyr Mawr, and consist of a small square Norman keep with fragments of walls. The living is a rectory in the diocese of LIandaff; net value, £104 with residence. Patron, the Earl of Dunraven. The church has been restored.
