Killybebill or Cilypebyll, Glamorgan

Description
Killybebill or Cilypebyll, a parish in Glamorgan, on the river Tawe, 5 miles N of Neath. Post town, Alltwen, under Swansea; money order and telegraph office, Pontar-dawe. Acreage, 3982; population, 2006. The manor belonged formerly to the Herberts and the Turbervilles. Plas Cilypebyll is the cliief residence. There are large collieries. A bridge, by Edwards, the builder of the celebrated bridge at Pontypridd, with one arch of 80 feet in width, spans the Tawe at Pontardawe. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Llandaff; gross value, £120 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Llandaff. The church was rebuilt in 1869. There is a Congregational chapel, and also a chapel of ease at Alltwen.
