Glyn Corrwg, Glamorgan

Description
Glyn-Corrwg, a hamlet and a parish in Glamorgan. The hamlet lies on the river Corwg, a little above its influx to the Avon, 4 miles SE of Resolven station on the G.W.R., and 8 ENE of Neath. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Cymmer (R.S.O.) The parish includes also the villages Abergwynfi and Cymmer, and the chapelry of Blaen-gwrach. Acreage, 12,251; population of the civil parish, 3522; of the ecclesiastical, 2483. The surface is mainly mountainous. Coal and iron occur, but not in great quantity. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Llandaff; gross value, £100. The parish church is ancient. There is a chapel of ease at Blaengwrach. There are Baptist, Congregational, Cal-vinistic Methodist, and Bible Christian chapels.
