Cogan or Cogan Pill, Glamorgan

Description
Cogan or Cogan-Pill, a parish in Glamorgan, near the coast, 1 mile SW of Penarth, and 4 1/2 miles SSW of Cardiff. It has a station on the Barry Dock railway, and a post, money order, and telegraph office (T.S.O.) under Penarth. Acreage, 616 ; population, 1627. An old house here was the seat of the Herberts of Cogan. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the rectory of Llandough with Leckwith, in the diocese of Llandaff. The church was rebuilt in 1893. There is a United Free Methodist chapel.
