Cheriton, Glamorgan

Description
Cheriton, a village and a parish in Glamorgan, on the Burry estuary, in the Gower peninsula, 5 miles W of Llanmorlais station on the L. & N.W.R., and 13 W of Swansea, which is the post town. Acreage, 1400; population, 155. Some traces exist of Boville Castle. The living is a rectory, annexed to that of Llanmadoc, in the diocese of St David's; gross value, £288. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. Population of the ecclesiastical district, 309. The church is Early English, and was repaired in 1875.
