This database started as a project to provide a family tree of the people who lived in Stalbridge, Dorset.

It has branched out significantly since then to include many other parishes in North Dorset and South West Wiltshire, but is not complete in any respect other than it contains all people listed in the completed census transcripts.

We have linked families and individuals between the returns and occasionally added further census transcripts. We have also added Baptism, Marriage, and Burial entries for many people, as well as linking them to grave headstones found in the burial ground of St. Mary's Church. Most of the birth dates are derived from the census returns but many have also been authenticated from the baptism entry in the Parish Register.

Occasionally, we have also provided references to the birth, marriage and death entries in the General Register Office indexes. These can be used to obtain copies of the relevant certificate.
