Gaydon, Warwickshire

Description
Gaydon, a parish in Warwickshire, 3 miles NE of Kine-ton, and 6 SW of Sontham. It has a post office under Warwick; money order and telegraph office, Kineton. Acreage, 1518; population of the civil parish, 296; of the ecclesiastical, 344. The manor belonged once to the Bishops of Lichfield and Coventry. There is a parish concert hall with reading and refreshment rooms. The living, formerly a chapelry of Bishops Itchington, was with the chapelry of Chadshunt formed into a vicarage in 1879, in the diocese of Worcester; gross value, £210 with residence. The church was erected in 1852.
