Stowe, a parish in Salop, 2 miles NE of Knighton. Post town, Brampton Bryan (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Knighton. It includes the townships of Lurkenhope and Weston. Acreage, 2726; population, 284. The Hying is a vicarage in the diocese of Hereford; net value, £182 with residence. The church is ancient, and retains the rood-loft.
