Description
Ercall, Childs, a village and a parish in Salop. The village stands 4 miles SE of Hodnet station on the G.W.R., and 7 NW of Newport It has a post office under Market Drayton; money order office, Hinstock; telegraph office, Peplow railway station. The parish includes the township of Hungry Hatton. Acreage, 3749 ; population, 422. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lichfield; gross value, £65 with residence. The church is ancient, and was restored in 1879.
