Kenton, Northumberland

Description
Kenton, a township in Gosforth parish, Northumberland, 8 miles NNE of Newcastle-on-Tyne station on the N.E.R. and North British railway. It contains the hamlets of Bank Top and Blake Law, and has a post and money order office under Newcastle; telegraph office, Gosforth. Acreage, 1454; population, 607. Very good freestone is quarried. There are a school mission chapel, a Methodist chapel, and a meeting-house for Plymouth Brethren.
