Description
Hykeham, North, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire, with a station 1 mile NW from the village on the M.R., 4 miles SW from Lincoln, and a post office under Lincoln; money order and telegraph office, Bracebridge. Acreage, 1979; population, 499. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincohl; net yearly value, £193 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Lincoln. The ancient chapel was relinquished early in the 18th century, but the burial-ground connected with it continued to be used up to a recent date. The present church, erected in 1858, is a building in the Decorated style. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
