Gunby St Nicholas, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire, on the SW verge of the county, 6 miles SW from Corby station on the G.N.E., and 10 S from Grantham. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Colsterworth, under Grantham. Acreage of the civil parish, 1008; population, 162; of the ecclesiastical, with Stainby, 233. The manor belongs to the Dysarts. The living is a rectory, annexed to the rectory of Stainby, in the diocese of Lincoln; joint net yearly value, £450 with residence. The church, which is a building of stone in the Early English style, comprises nave and chancel, with Later English tower.
