Description
Foston, a parish in Lincolnshire, near the boundary with Notts and Leicestershire, 3 miles W by S of Hougham station and 3 N of Sedgebrook station, both on the G.N.R., and 5£ NW by N of Grantham. It has a post office under Grantham; money order and telegraph office. Long Bennington. Acreage, 2068; population of the civil parish, 342; of the ecclesiastical, with Long Bennington, 1146. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Long Ben-, nington, in the diocese of Lincoln; joint net yearly value, JE185 with residence. The church is ancient, and has a pinnacled tower. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
