Description
Dowsby, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire, 3 1/4 miles SE by S of Folkingliam, and 1 mile N by W from Rippingale station on the G.N.R., with a post office under Folkingham; money order and telegraph office, Rippingale. Acreage, 1905; population, 171. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; value, £424. The church is old but good, and has an embattled tower. Dowsby Hall is the chief residence.
