Description
Croft, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire, on the river Steeping, at the coast, 2 miles NW from Croft Bank station on the G.N.R., and 2 N from Wainfleet. The village has a post office under Wainfleet (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Wainfleet. Acreage of parish, 5539 of land and 370 of tidal water and foreshore; population, 635. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln; gross yearly value, £455 with residence. The church is a building of freestone in the Decorated and Late Perpendicular styles. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
