Shalden, a parish in Hants, 3 miles NW of Alton station on the L. & S.W.R. It has a post office under Alton; money order and telegraph office, Alton. Acreage, 1534; population, 175. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; net value, £200 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church was rebuilt in 1865.
