Description
Rowner, a parish in Hants, 1 mile from Brockhurst station on the L. & S.W.R., and 2 1/2 miles NW of Gosport Post town, Fareham. Acreage, 1245; population of the civil parish, 271; of the ecclesiastical, 291. A mineral spring and remains of an old priory are near the church. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; net value, £260 with residence. The church is ancient but good, and has been restored. Fort Grange and Fort Rowner are both in this parish.
