Description
Worldham, East, a parish in Hants, 2 1/2 miles SE of Alton station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Alton. Acreage, 1800; population, 252. A tumulus is on King John's Hill, and fragments of Roman pottery have been found there. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Winchester; gross value, £150. Patron, Magdalen College, Oxford. The church is in the Transition Norman style. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
