Description
Charlcombe, a parish in Somerset, near the G.W.R., 1 1/2 mile N of Bath, which is the post town. Acreage, 769; population of the civil parish, 646; of the ecclesiastical, 597. Waterworks are here for supplying the city of Bath. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £187 with residence. The church is ancient and curious, but good, and the churchyard contains a very old yew-tree. There is also an Early Norman or Saxon font.
