Stainburn, a village and a township in Workington parish, Cumberland, 1 mile E of Workington station on the L. & N.W.R., with a post office under Workington; money order and telegraph office, Workington. Acreage, 1228; population, 256. A cell to St Bees Abbey was here. There is a large tannery. The Earl of Lonsdale is lord of the manor.
