Petteril Crooks, a village in Hesket-in-the Forest parish, Cumberland, on the river Petteril, 10 miles NNW of Penrith, and 7 1/4 from Carlisle. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Carlisle. The nearest station is on the L. & N.W.R. at Southwaite.
