Oulton, Cumberland

Description
Oulton, a township, with a village, in Wigton parish, Cumberland, near an affluent of the river Wampool, 2 miles NNW of Wigton station on the Maryport and Carlisle railway. There is a post, money order, and telegraph office at Wigton. Acreage, 2878, of which 13 are water; population 1/2. 317. A number of the inhabitants are employed in the neighbouring woollen and cotton mills.
